Happy 4 Years! - 06/25/2008

Tomorrow Chris and I will celebrate 4 years of marriage! It's hard to believe! I feel so blessed to be by his side as we experience all that the LORD has for us. We never would have dreamed that in 4 short years, we would be the proud parents of 2 beautiful children. For those of you who don't know our story, let me reminisce a little and tell you how we met....
As most of you know, we both went to Bob Jones. He was a year ahead of me and though I knew who he was my freshman year, it wasn't until my sophomore year that we officially met. Karen (Meyers) Tyndall introduced us one night in the Student Center. It was that night, that I found out that Chris and his girlfriend had broken up the previous summer. I know this sounds really corny, but I knew that Chris and I were going to end up together. I was instantly attracted to him, but beyond that, we had such fun when we were together. We started hanging out a lot, mostly with Karen, but gradually we started doing things by ourselves. Sometime that fall we went apple picking and Chris says that's when he knew that he liked me. My Bob Jones days are filled with such great memories of our early dating days. Artist Series and chubby cola, sitting in the student center, honey mustard subs and Cherry Coke at the Snack Shop, dating outings, meeting up after class, stadium soccer games under the lights, the list goes on and on! Some of my favorite memores include: When he would come to pick me up at my dorm. He would always have something for me. One day, he had made a flower out of leaves and sticks. He was always so caring and thoughtful. I remember one Artist Series. I came down the stairs to the dorm lobby and there he was with a big smile on his face. He kept telling me how beautiful I looked and that he couldn't believe he was the guy who got to take me. I have to mention one story. I worked in the computer lab and one night, who should show up, but Chris...in black leather pants! He had found these pants somewhere in his dorm, put them on, and come by to show me. He was always making me laugh!
My prayer, Chris, is that even with the hectic, busy pace of life, we would never forget those early days of fun and laughter and attraction. And that our love would grow stronger and stronger with each day. Thank you for your love and affection and working so hard to give me the best. I love you!
